On May 10, JITTC and KOTRA (South Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) co-hosted the Jiangsu-South Korea Smart Manufacture Robot Partnering Conference to explore more cooperative projects on the basis of the exiting partnerships between the companies and research institutes of the two sides.
This is the fourth industry-focused event jointly organized by Jiangsu and KOTRA after the 2015 conference on ICT. Before the event, KOTRA and JITTC worked closely to provide services, such as online matching for enterprises and institutes from both sides. KIRIA (Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement) and 9 renowned Korean companies attended the conference and delivered briefings on their technology information, technical resources and cooperative proposals to over 200 participants from 98 Jiangsu companies. Based on the interactions in preparation for the conference, Jiangsu and South Korean companies have 114 one-to-one meetings, among which 21 have reached cooperative intent.
Delegates from KIRIA introduced the policies, status quo and future vision on intelligent manufacturing in South-Korea. 9 Korean companies including Hyundai Heavy Industries, which were impressed by Jiangsu enterprises’ brisk demands for industrial automation technology, presented their technologies, products and R&D activities in the fields of vehicle manufacturing automation, robotics, machine tool manufacturing, teaching robot, medical robot, etc.. The conference has laid a solid ground for future cooperation between the two sides.
Mr. Bonkyung Koo, chief representative of KOTRA NANJING, said, “China is the biggest market for robots around the world and has a huge demand for innovative technologies. At the same time, a number of Korean companies have strong R&D capacities in IT. The conference was held for mutual benefits.” On the basis of mutual trust and existing partnership, they are going to encourage and organize more and more companies specialized in intelligent manufacturing and robotics to seek for cooperative partners in Jiangsu.”
Mr. Wang Xiao Bo, manager of WEIFU Group, said, “We learned about the information of the South Korean companies and made several appointments before the conference. In particular, we had detailed discussions with DMT and are looking forward to future cooperation.””
