Jiangsu Companies Visited UK and Germany for Exchanges and Matchmaking

From June 1st to 8th, entrusted by Hai’an county government, JITTC organized 17 people from 13 intelligent manufacturing companies in Hai’an to visit top universities, technology transfer agencies and smart factories in UK and Germany to get an in-depth insight of technical innovation and the cutting-edge development of intelligent manufacturing.

In UK, Jiangsu delegation visited the Data Science Institute (DSI) of Imperial College London and conducted a discussion centered on wearable devices, medical robots, sensors, smart city, etc. The delegation then paid visits to ISIS innovation Ltd., Energy Research Center in Newcastle University and Birmingham Centre for Energy Storage. They exchanged views about marine equipment manufacturing, dynamical equipment, renewable energy, green building, carbon nanomaterial, agricultural machinery 4.0, etc.

In Germany, the delegation attended a workshop about China-Germany technology transfer modes in Steinbeis GmbH & Co. KG für  Technologietransfer. Jiangsu companies then undertook exchanges with European Buyers Council and German Economic Council, discussing the potential opportunities to build the China-Germany communication and matchmaking platform. Meanwhile, they also meet with specialists from German Baker Tilly Roelfs and together explored the methods to introduce domestic products to German market. During their visit to Mercedes-Benz Stuttgart Headquarters, Jiangsu delegation learned about the history of Mercedes-Benz and visited the smart factory including the manufacturing plant and testing center. They were fascinated by the first-class management, intelligent manufacturing system and the endless pursuit for premium quality which together contribute to the big picture of Industry 4.0 in Germany. 
 

Through this on-site visit, the delegation was impressed by the development of intelligent manufacturing in UK and Germany. At the same time, they communicated with the professors and experts from top universities and technology transfer agencies face to face and explored the opportunities for future cooperation. Nantong Mingnuo Co., Ltd. has reached a cooperative intent with University of Birmingham on “The Mechanism Study of Batteries for NEV (new energy vehicles) under Extreme Environments” and “Performance Test for NEV and UK Certification”. Jiangsu Shuangshuang High-tech Co., Ltd. and Imperial College London have achieved initial intent of cooperation on “R&D of Wearable Devices”. JITTC will follow up these cases and promote cooperation between the two sides.
